According to ТСН: In Zalukva, located in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, archaeologists from the National Reserve 'Ancient Galich' discovered a unique clay figurine of a bull during excavations, which belongs to the Trypillia culture and is over 6,000 years old.

This finding was announced on social media by the archaeological experts of the reserve.

Description of the finding

Archaeological work was carried out in a multi-layered settlement at the 'Sad' site in the village of Zalukva in 2025 as part of a project aimed at reconstructing historical landscapes. The figurine of the bull dates back to the stage B II of the Trypillia culture, which corresponds to the beginning of the 4th millennium BC.

Experts note that this finding serves as important evidence of the spiritual life and artistic traditions of the Trypillians. Similar artifacts allow researchers to better understand the culture of ancient inhabitants and the richness of the history of this region.

Other findings in the region

It was also previously revealed that near Halych, archaeologists discovered an ancient road dating back to the Prince's era. This road was constructed for access to the Church of St. Panteleimon.

The finding of the clay bull figurine in Zalukva emphasizes the importance of archaeological research in Ukraine.
