Attack on the Military Commissariat in Rivne Region: Soldier with Severe Injuries in Hospital.
According to ТСН: On December 24, in Rivne Region, during the performance of their duties, a notification group from the Sarny district military commissariat was attacked by aggressively inclined citizens subject to mobilization. As a result of this incident, one serviceman sustained serious injuries and is currently in the hospital.
Incident Details
According to available information, the patrol police attempted to stop a car that failed to comply with the request to provide documents and fled into the territory of a private enterprise. At that moment, a group of passersby intervened, not realizing the legal grounds for the detention, began to hinder law enforcement officials: pulling on their uniform clothing, shouting obscenities, and throwing sticks.
During the scuffle, one citizen used a metal object (a crowbar), as a result of which the soldier sustained severe injuries, including a broken rib and bruises to both lungs. Doctors assess his condition as critical and are providing necessary assistance.
The Operational Command 'West' emphasizes that such actions are a direct obstruction to the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and are associated with violence against servicemen. The incident occurred due to the conscious non-compliance of some citizens with mobilization legislation during martial law.
Information about the incident has been recorded in the Unified Register of Pre-trial Investigations under Article 350, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and a pre-trial investigation is ongoing. The investigation is to establish all circumstances and roles of each participant, as well as the classification of the crime.
Authorities Call for Order
The message emphasizes that any attacks on representatives of military commissariats, patrol officers, or other officials during martial law undermine the state's defense capability. Such actions create chaos and demoralization in society and effectively assist the enemy.
'Mobilization measures may cause fear, tension, questions, and discussions in some, but no discussion gives the right to violence. Disagreement, complaints, and conflict situations should be resolved solely by legal means: through appeals, complaints, legal mechanisms, court, and communication with authorities. A crowbar, sticks, brawling, humiliation, and attacks are pathways not to 'justice,' but to criminal liability,' the command stated.
Law enforcement urges citizens to avoid provocations, not spread unverified information, and resolve conflicts legally: through appeals, complaints, court instances, and communication with authorities. Violence against servicemen is punishable by law.
'Obstructing mobilization efforts is a crime. The state and society must not become 'accustomed' to such attacks,' the military concluded.
Earlier, there were reports of the brutal murder of military officer Yury Bondarenko, who was laid to rest in Lviv. A 30-year-old Grigory Kedruk is suspected of the crime.
The suspect claims that he allegedly provided all necessary documents, immediately called a lawyer, and insists that he was 'sprayed with pepper spray and beaten by 3-4 people.' He stated that he does not remember the moment when he stabbed the soldier with a knife. At the same time, he admitted that the weapon belonged to him.
The incident in Rivne Region highlights the relevance of the issue of protecting representatives of military structures during mobilization efforts. All participants in the events must be identified and held accountable to prevent similar cases in the future.
The circumstances of this incident indicate the need to raise legal awareness among citizens, as violations of the law can lead to serious consequences for both individuals and society as a whole.
