The Ministry of Justice named the most popular names of 2025: who topped the ranking.
According to ТСН: In Ukraine, the choice of a name for a child has become an important component of the future of the family and the country. Despite difficult times, approximately 200 thousand babies are born each year, and tastes in name selection are changing. There is a noticeable return to traditions, as well as the influence of global trends.

Regional Features of Name Selection
As before, there are geographical differences in name selection. In large cities like Kyiv and Lviv, shorter names that are easy to pronounce outside the country are more frequently chosen. Mark and Emilia gained popularity due to their universality.
In western regions, particularly in Galicia, there is a high demand for the name Solomiya, which is a symbol of the local culture. In contrast, in central and eastern regions, parents prefer traditional Slavic names.
Main Trends in Names
The trends in name selection are closely related to events in the country. In 2022-2023, unusual patriotic names became popular, but now there is a gradual fading of this trend. For 2025, parents are more oriented towards practicality and the longevity of relevance, choosing names that will remain appropriate for decades. The choice is increasingly leaning towards 'stable classics.'
