War in Ukraine: Ground Robots Transforming Frontline Logistics and Medical Evacuation

According to TSN.ua: Ukrainian forces are deploying unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs) to deliver supplies and evacuate the wounded in combat zones. One such system is the 'Manyunya' drone, which plays a critical role in logistics by transporting food, water, and ammunition. The 225th Assault Battalion actively uses this robot, which can carry over 250 kilograms of cargo, significantly easing the burden of resupplying troops on the front line.

A case in point is a wounded soldier named Denys, who was unable to be evacuated for four days. He suffered a gunshot-blinding injury and a suspected fractured shin. Thanks to robotic technology, he finally received help.

“We did it using the robot. The guys carried it out with the UGV. It was a joint effort—a full-scale special operation.” – Turbo, combat medic of the 225th Assault Battalion.

After his evacuation, Denys was taken to a hospital where he underwent all necessary medical examinations and had the opportunity for surgery. Surgeon Andriy stressed the importance of moral support:

“You have to talk to them, encourage them, tell them everything will be fine.” – Andriy, surgeon.

In this way, the use of ground robotic systems like the 'Manyunya' drone demonstrates new approaches to logistics and evacuation on the front line, improving survival rates and timely medical care for Ukrainian soldiers.
