Overnight Drone Strike Hits Khmelnytskyi: Fire Erupts at Industrial Site After 20 Shahed Attacks.
Morning Explosions Rock the City
According to TSN.ua: On April 1, explosions were heard in Khmelnytskyi as Russian drones—approximately 20 Shaheds—targeted the area around 6:40 AM. The attack sparked a fire at a local industrial facility in the regional center. Emergency crews from the State Emergency Service (DSNS) were deployed to contain the blaze, according to Serhiy Tiurin.
Air raid sirens sounded twice that day:
- The first alert ran from 1:02 AM to 1:42 AM,
- The second lasted from 4:24 AM to 7:06 AM.
Early in the morning, monitoring systems warned residents of approaching drones, heightening public anxiety.
The overnight assault on Khmelnytskyi left its mark. Oleksandr Symchyshyn reported no casualties or injuries, but window damage was once again recorded in residential buildings. Despite the incident, all municipal and budget-funded institutions continue to operate as usual.
This attack is part of Russia's ongoing military aggression against Ukraine, which began in 2022. The explosions in Khmelnytskyi highlight the persistent drone threats endangering civilian safety. City authorities have responded swiftly to each strike, yet the need for robust security measures remains critical across all Ukrainian regions.
