Military Situation in Kyiv

On the preceding day, March 7, 2023, the Russian Federation's military launched an attack on Kyiv using drones and missiles. The assault damaged a critical infrastructure facility. As a result of the strike, 1,905 homes across the Pecherskyi, Dniprovskyi, Holosiivskyi, and Solomianskyi districts were left without heating. These attacks on civilian infrastructure are a common tactic in the ongoing war, which began with Russia's full-scale invasion in February 2022.

The situation in Kyiv remains tense due to the continuing conflict. Strikes on critical systems like heating supply significantly impact the daily lives of the capital's residents, particularly during the winter season. Meteorological forecasts for the coming days indicate fluctuating temperatures, which could complicate efforts to restore heating in the affected districts.
