Odesa Hit by Nighttime Attack: Residential Buildings Damaged and Casualties Reported.
Nighttime Strike on Odesa
According to TSN.ua: Russian forces struck residential areas of Odesa in a nighttime attack, resulting in casualties and significant damage. A two-story house in the Peresyp district was among the structures destroyed. The assault caused severe damage not only to homes but also to critical infrastructure, administrative buildings, and industrial facilities. Destruction was recorded in three districts: Primorskyi, Peresyp, and Khadzhybeiskyi. Parts of the city were left without power and other utilities. This attack is part of a wider pattern of strikes on Ukrainian port cities since the full-scale invasion began in February 2022.
Aftermath of the Assault
Rescue workers and utility crews are on the scene working to address the consequences of the bombardment. Witnesses described the terrifying moments they endured:
“Debris buried me, and I jumped up. The guys got up and pulled me out.” — Olena
“We heard it flying and falling right over our heads. It was already clear what was happening.” — Inna
Natalia shared her experience: “It was scary, very scary. We have now lived through this for a second time.”
This strike serves as further evidence of the escalating situation in the region, where civilians have once again become victims of aggression. The destructive impact of the attack underscores the critical need for safety and stability for Odesa's residents.
The bombardment of Odesa occurs against the backdrop of intensifying conflict in Ukraine, raising concerns both within the country and internationally. Recent events highlight the urgent need for measures to protect civilians and restore infrastructure. This incident is another stark reminder of the importance of international support for Ukraine in its struggle for peace and security on its own territory.
