Ceremonial procession in honor of Christmas in Kyiv

According to ТСН: Hundreds of Kyiv residents and guests took part in a ceremonial event that took place in the central streets of the city to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and support Ukrainian traditions.

This large-scale event, organized by the Ivan Honchar Museum, was attended by military personnel, veterans, artists, and numerous families with children, reported the correspondent.

The celebration began at St. Michael's Square under the slogan 'Christ is born! Let us glorify Him!'. In the streets connecting St. Michael's and St. Sophia's Cathedrals, the singing of folklore groups 'ShchukaRiba', 'Stodivnytsia', and 'Christmas Bell' was heard. Together with the participants of the procession, they performed the famous Christmas hymn 'New Joy Has Come', after which the column set off on a journey through the symbolic places of the capital.

The route of the Christmas procession went from St. Sophia Square to the Golden Gate, then along Volodymyrska Street past the National Opera to Bohdan Khmelnytsky Street, and ended at Khreshchatyk and Independence Square.

The participants of the procession carried Christmas stars, which symbolize not only the Bethlehem star but also the memory of the defenders of Ukraine who fell in the fight against the Russian aggressor.

The organizers emphasized that each star in the hands of the participants is a sign of honoring the fallen heroes and supporting those who continue to defend the front.

This event not only contributed to the affirmation of Ukrainian traditions but also united people in difficult times, highlighting the importance of memory and solidarity. The Christmas procession became a symbol of hope and resilience of the Ukrainian people, as traditions and faith become particularly important in times of war.
