The Patrol Police refutes the fake news about the new road sign for buses and electric vehicles.
According to ТСН: The information spreading on the internet about a new road sign in Ukraine in the form of a 'white diamond on a blue background' is false.
This was reported by Oleksandr Biloshytskyi, the first deputy head of the Patrol Police Department.
He cited examples of fake messages claiming that this sign would be used to designate lanes for certain categories of vehicles, including:
- buses and other public transport;
- taxis;
- passenger cars with two or more passengers;
- electric vehicles.
Biloshytskyi emphasized that the current traffic rules in Ukraine and DSTU 4100:2021 'Traffic safety. Road signs. General technical conditions. Rules for application' do not provide for the introduction of such a sign and do not contain information regarding its use.
'There are also no relevant draft amendments to the mentioned regulatory documents that would provide for the rules for the application of such road signs in Ukraine,' he added.
The Patrol Police urges citizens to verify information from reliable sources.
It is also worth noting that an unusual road sign, a blue rectangle with three stripes, the middle one of which is highlighted, is noticeably appearing on European roads. It may look strange to Ukrainian drivers, but it has practical significance.
Therefore, it is important to perceive information carefully and always verify news for accuracy. This will help avoid misunderstandings on the roads and ensure the safety of all road users. The Patrol Police continues to monitor law and order and aims to inform drivers about current changes in traffic rules.
