According to TSN.ua: Starting March 20, 2023, a new fuel cashback initiative took effect in Ukraine, running until May 1, 2023. This program offers compensation for fuel purchases in the form of cashback: 15% for diesel, 10% for gasoline, and 5% for autogas. The measure aims to ease financial pressure on drivers during a challenging economic period.
Program Details
Cashback per liter of fuel ranges from 2 to 11 hryvnias, depending on the fuel type. The maximum monthly cashback a person can receive for fuel is 1,000 hryvnias. Under the broader 'National Cashback' program, the total cap reaches up to 3,000 hryvnias per month.
Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko announced the fuel cashback initiative on March 12, 2023. The Cabinet of Ministers approved its launch during a meeting on March 18, 2023. This policy is designed to support drivers amid rising fuel prices and broader economic strain.
“This program offers significant financial relief for drivers who use diesel, gasoline, or autogas.” - Yuliia Svyrydenko
Thus, the fuel cashback program opens new opportunities for reducing fuel expenses in the face of current challenges.
The introduction of fuel cashback marks a key step in supporting Ukrainian motorists, especially given high fuel costs. As part of the 'National Cashback' initiative, it could provide substantial financial help for many drivers dealing with economic hardship. The program's limited timeframe suggests it may be extended or adjusted depending on the country's economic conditions.
