The detained assailant on a military officer of the TCK in Odesa: he hid from the police for almost two months.
According to ТСН: Law enforcement officers in Odesa detained a suspect in the armed attack on a serviceman of the Territorial Center for Staffing and Social Support (TCK and SP). The man, who stabbed a serviceman in early November, had been hiding from the investigation for almost two months.
According to the TCK press service, the suspect was found on December 28 in the Peresyp district of Odesa during scheduled notification activities. His identity was established by the military recruitment office in conjunction with the National Police.
“During the arrest, the offender attempted to escape and actively resisted law enforcement officers. Thanks to coordinated actions and the involvement of an additional police arrangement, the individual was detained and taken to the unit of the National Police of Ukraine for investigative actions,” the TCK noted.
Details of the attack
Recall that the attack occurred in early November when the serviceman was performing his duties. According to the investigation data, the suspect inflicted a penetrating knife wound on the TCK serviceman and then fled the scene. Throughout this time, law enforcement searched for the attacker.
The Odesa regional TCK and SP emphasized that attacking a serviceman during martial law is a serious crime. The agency stresses the inevitability of punishment for aggression against representatives of the Armed Forces.
“Individuals who attempt to destabilize the situation in the rear by aggression against servicemen must understand: responsibility is inevitable, regardless of the time that has passed since the commission of the crime,” the press service of the institution noted.
Situation in other regions
Recall that on December 24 in Rivne region, during the performance of official duties, a notification group of the Sarny district TCK and SP was attacked by aggressively inclined citizens of mobilization age. One of the servicemen suffered serious injuries and is in the hospital.
In addition, in Lviv region, a man of mobilization age struck a TCK serviceman with an object resembling a hatchet-hammer.
This series of attacks on servicemen during martial law raises concern among the public and law enforcement. The authorities emphasize the need to ensure the safety of those performing official duties and are taking steps to maintain order in the rear. Comments and actions of the relevant authorities indicate the seriousness of the situation and readiness to confront any manifestations of aggression.
