According to ТСН: The court has decided on a preventive measure in the form of detention without the possibility of bail for a man and a woman who were arrested during an attempt to smuggle methamphetamine through the checkpoint 'Uzhgorod - Vyshne Nemenchne'.

It concerns the driver of an Audi Q3 and his passenger, who were identified by Ukrainian border guards during a check. During the inspection of the car, a service dog detected narcotic substances hidden on the passenger's body and in the trunk of the car. Further investigative actions in Transcarpathia revealed additional batches of prohibited substances.

The total weight of seized methamphetamine exceeds 5 kilograms. According to law enforcement, the value of this batch on the black market could reach millions of hryvnias. The investigation continues, and all details of the crime and possible accomplices are being established.

Particularly, the journalist pointed out that the service dog that found the drugs had its face 'blurred.'

'Logically — an undercover agent. Such footage and such 'operational appearance' should be safe,' he jokes.

Earlier it was reported that border guards detained an Audi Q3, which was trying to illegally import a large batch of amphetamine into Ukraine. It is known that the vehicle had previously passed control many times on the Slovak side of the border.

Driver Halyna Toroni and passenger Yuriy Kozar used a stable route: at least 13 crossings of the border by this car were recorded over a short period, four of which were together. During the last trip, a service dog found almost 1 kg of amphetamine secured on the passenger's body and more than 1 kg in the trunk. During searches in the Mukachevo region, law enforcement found about 2 kg of psychotropic substances.

This case confirms the activity of law enforcement in combating drug smuggling in Ukraine. The work of border guards and law enforcement agencies is essential for ensuring safety in the country and countering illegal drug trafficking. The investigation continues to establish all the circumstances of the case, which may lead to the identification of new potential participants in this crime.
