Pension increase from January 1, 2026: new amounts of minimum and maximum payments

According to ТСН: In Ukraine, an increase in pensions is planned from January 1, 2026. This has become possible due to the increase in the subsistence minimum and minimum wage.

Changes in pension payments

Pensions have been recalculated for individuals with minimum and maximum payments. Changes also affected those receiving supplements related to the subsistence minimum or minimum wage.

According to new data, starting January 1, the minimum pension increased from UAH 2361 to UAH 2595. The maximum pension has also risen from UAH 23610 to UAH 25950.

By law, the pension cannot exceed ten times the subsistence minimum, although some pensioners managed to overturn this limitation in court. Nevertheless, for most Ukrainians, this rule remains in force, and this category received the largest increase.

Additions and pensions for certain groups

In addition, allowances for overtime work have been recalculated. This year, the supplement for each additional year of work increased to UAH 25.95. This applies to men with over 35 years of work experience and women with over 30 years of experience.

A separate recalculation occurred for pensioners who reached 65 years of age and have the required experience. For this group, the minimum pension will be no less than 40% of the minimum wage. After the increase in the minimum wage from UAH 8000 to UAH 8647, the minimum pension for this category increased by more than UAH 200 to UAH 3458.8.

Changes in pension reform

As reported, from January 1, the rules for retirement in Ukraine will change. New requirements for insurance experience for assigning retirement at age will come into force. To retire at 60, one will need to have at least 33 years of official insurance experience.

These changes in pension legislation aim to improve pension security for Ukrainians and ensure system stability. Increases in pensions and supplements will be an important step to support pensioners amid rising living costs. With the new retirement rules, Ukrainians will be able to better plan their future, knowing what requirements need to be met to receive a pension.
