Ukrainians with disabilities will receive 50 thousand for vehicle adaptation: conditions.
According to ТСН: A new financial support program for drivers with musculoskeletal disorders is starting in Ukraine. It will help adapt vehicles to personal needs. The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the procedure for compensation payments for vehicle adaptation, as reported by First Deputy Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko. This initiative is aimed at improving the mobility of citizens who require special manual control or other technical changes in vehicle design.
Who can receive funds for vehicle adaptation
According to the new rules, both owners of new and used vehicles are eligible for reimbursement. The main condition is documentary confirmation of the completed work and registration of changes at the MVS service center. The budget for 2026 already includes about 30 million hryvnias for the implementation of this project, which will support a significant number of people in need of assistance.
The procedure for receiving funds is maximally simplified and consists of several stages:
First, the vehicle owner carries out the adaptation at certified centers, after which they update the data in the driver's license and technical passport.
Then, they must submit an application to the Social Protection Fund for Persons with Disabilities. This can be done in several ways: personally visiting the local branch, using the electronic cabinet on the Ministry of Social Policy portal, or submitting a request through the state application Diia.
The maximum payout amount per person is 50 thousand hryvnias. The state guarantees a quick review of applications, which will take no more than three working days. In the case of a positive decision, the funds will be credited to the applicant's account within ten days. It is important to note that a similar mechanism previously operated successfully for war veterans, and now its scope is being expanded to all citizens with disabilities who wish to independently drive a vehicle.
The implementation of this program is an important step towards ensuring equal access to transport for people with disabilities. It will not only help increase their mobility but also provide equal opportunities in employment and everyday life. The program promises to positively affect the quality of life of many Ukrainians who face difficulties in mobility due to physical limitations.Read also
