The issue of the Zaporizhzhia NPP will be raised at the first meeting with Russia - president.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the issue of the Zaporizhzhia NPP will be discussed at the first meeting of the parties in a diplomatic format. He noted that the nuclear power plant is currently not operating due to the absence of Ukrainian management and is dangerous for the population. Zelensky emphasized the need to discuss the issue of the Zaporizhzhia NPP at the diplomatic level. Earlier, the president tried to ensure access for Ukrainian specialists to the occupied nuclear power plant and held negotiations regarding the cessation of shelling of energy facilities. He even proposed to Russia not to attack its energy system if Russia stopped shelling Ukrainian facilities, but Russia did not agree to this. The situation at the Zaporizhzhia NPP is becoming increasingly dangerous due to power supply interruptions. The head of the IAEA, Rafael Grossi, also warned that attacks on the Ukrainian energy system could lead to a nuclear accident due to disruptions in electricity supply from nuclear power plants. At the same time, during the war, the staff of the state company 'Energoatom' decreased by five thousand people, of which three thousand left to work for 'Rosatom', and another two thousand went abroad.
