Ukraine’s Frontline Communities Speak Out

According to TSN.ua: Igor Terekhov, head of the Association of Frontline Municipalities (APMG), has laid out the stance of Ukraine’s frontline communities on recovery and security. He stressed the urgent need to protect both people and critical infrastructure in the high-risk environments these communities operate in every day. Daily exposure to danger calls for entirely fresh approaches to solving long-standing problems.

Priority Areas for Collaboration

Terekhov emphasized that effective action requires not only financial support but also a fundamental shift in mindset. The key areas identified for joint effort are:

  • decentralization
  • protection of energy infrastructure
  • development of underground critical infrastructure
  • adoption of cutting-edge technologies
  • expansion of defense manufacturing and the IT sector
'We live under constant shelling, yet we keep transport, hospitals, schools, and utilities running. Our goal is to ensure life in our cities never stops.' – Igor Terekhov

As military aggression continues, supporting frontline communities that strive to maintain critical infrastructure and sustain daily life is essential. Advancing decentralization and new technologies could be a decisive factor in strengthening security and stability in these regions. Rebuilding and sustaining these communities is not just a social imperative—it is also an economic necessity for the entire country. For international observers and partners, understanding this dynamic is key to grasping Ukraine’s resilience under fire.
