Border Guards Rescue Man Who Fell Through Ice on the Prut River.
Incident on the Romanian Border
According to TSN.ua: A man attempting to cross the border into Romania illegally was rescued by border guards after he fell through the ice on the Prut River. The incident occurred when the individual, trying to traverse the frozen river, found himself in a perilous situation beneath the ice.
The man managed to call the police to alert them to his danger, and law enforcement officers responded promptly to his distress call. During their investigation, officers discovered footprints in the snow and a ladder, evidence pointing to an attempted illegal border crossing. A search team quickly located the man on the bank of the Prut River.
After being found, the individual received first aid and was subsequently transported to a hospital for further care. Preliminary reports indicate his life is not in danger. An administrative report has also been filed against him for violating state border crossing regulations.
