France rejects Russia's demands: why the demilitarization of Ukraine is unacceptable

The French government opposes the demilitarization of Ukraine, believing that strengthening the Ukrainian army is the best means of ensuring security. According to French Minister for European Affairs Benjamin Haddad, any peace agreement must be accompanied by clear security guarantees to prevent future Russian aggression. France is also ready to actively support Ukraine's security guarantees in cooperation with British partners and the 'coalition of the willing'.

'This is the work we are doing with our British partners and the 'coalition of the willing'. This, first and foremost, will require a strong Ukrainian army, so any desire to 'demilitarize' Ukraine is unacceptable,' the minister said.

It is also worth noting that French President Emmanuel Macron plans to participate in negotiations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Donald Trump. In turn, Vladimir Putin outlined the terms for ending the war, which include withdrawing Ukrainian troops from Donetsk and Luhansk regions and renouncing intentions to join NATO.

The French government emerges as an active player on the international relations field, emphasizing the need to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities and tacitly supporting it in negotiations among world leaders.
