Russian Drone Strike Damages Odesa Monastery, Injuring Three.
Monastery in Odesa Hit by Russian Drone Assault
According to TSN.ua: A Russian drone attack targeted the Holy Dormition Monastery for men in Odesa during the night of January 28, damaging residential buildings and injuring people. The assault, involving dozens of drones, blew out windows in the monastery's structures.
According to Archimandrite Isaiia, three people were injured in this attack. He noted this was the third attempt to intimidate the monastery. The Archimandrite also stated that despite the terrifying events, all the injured received first aid and survived.
"It was a very frightening night. On the night of January 28, the Russian Federation again committed such a shameful act. Several dozen 'Shahed' drones struck almost the same spot. There are casualties, unfortunately. But, thank God, everyone is alive. We provided first aid to all the injured."

The Critical Role of Church Support
He also emphasized the importance of supporting the Church in difficult times: "The Church is always with the people. We support, we will always be close in hard times." This attack is another testament to the ongoing violence and tension in the region, which has seen religious sites repeatedly come under fire since the full-scale invasion began.
This incident highlights not only the immediate threat to human life but also the intensification of the conflict in Ukraine, which continues to impact all facets of society, including the religious sphere. Attacks on religious objects can fuel further escalation of tension among the population and exacerbate relations between different faiths.
The community and the Church play a vital role in sustaining people's morale during these challenging times, providing both practical aid and hope for a better future.
