Russian Drone Strikes Target Kryvyi Rih, Damaging Infrastructure and Sparking Fire.
Drone Assault on Dnipropetrovsk Region
According to TSN.ua: Oleksandr Ganzha, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, confirmed that Russian drones attacked the Dnipropetrovsk region overnight on March 8, striking the city of Kryvyi Rih. The assault resulted in a fire and caused damage to transport infrastructure. This industrial city, a key steel-producing hub, has been a frequent target during the conflict.
This follows another drone attack on Kryvyi Rih just two nights earlier, on March 6, where Russia deployed 'Shahed' drones. On that night, several communities in the Nikopol district also came under fire, including:
- Nikopol
- Marhanets
- Chervonohryhorivka
- Myrove
Oleksandr Vilkul, head of the Kryvyi Rih Defense Council, emphasized the gravity of the situation in the region resulting from these sustained attacks.
Continued Aggression and Civilian Threats
The drone strikes on the Dnipropetrovsk region underscore Russia's ongoing aggression and the increasing dangers faced by Ukrainian civilians. The pattern of attacks across multiple regions suggests an attempt to destabilize the country broadly. Local authorities and defense structures continue to work on ensuring population safety and repairing the damaged infrastructure, a relentless task as the war persists.
