Drone Strike on Odesa by Russia Injures Civilians and Damages Homes and School.
Odesa Targeted in Overnight Assault
According to TSN.ua: Russian Federation forces launched a drone attack on the port city of Odesa in the early hours of February 4th. The assault resulted in injuries to two people and caused significant damage to residential buildings, kindergartens, and a school. Air raid alerts were active from 00:42 to 02:19, and a fire broke out after a direct hit on an administrative building.
Extent of the Damage
The attack caused destruction across multiple districts of the city, specifically:
- Primorsky
- Peresyp
- Khadybey
Reports indicate that over 20 homes sustained damage, including to roofs and facades, with windows blown out. Among the structures hit were two kindergartens, a school, and the administrative building of an industrial facility. Odesa, a crucial Black Sea port, has been a frequent target since the start of the full-scale invasion.
Emergency crews are currently working at the sites to clear debris and secure damaged buildings by covering broken windows. Operational headquarters and heating stations have also been established to provide support for affected residents.
'Municipal services are working at all locations,' stated Serhiy Lysak.
This strike on Odesa is part of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, which continues to threaten civilian safety. Restoring damaged infrastructure and aiding victims remains a priority for local authorities as the city endures persistent threats. Given the scale of the destruction, providing rapid and effective assistance to the community is essential to mitigate the long-term impact.
