339 Drones Launched by Russia Against Ukraine: Strikes Hit Lutsk and Multiple Regions.
Massive Drone Assault on Ukraine
According to TSN.ua: On the night of April 1, 2026, Russia launched a large-scale drone attack across Ukraine, causing damage to civilian infrastructure and facilities, particularly in the city of Lutsk. According to official reports, the strikes hit food warehouses and a terminal operated by 'Nova Poshta' in that city.
The assault involved a total of 339 unmanned aerial vehicles, with approximately 200 of them being Shahed-type drones. Beyond Lutsk, several other Ukrainian regions came under fire, including:
- Dnipropetrovsk Oblast
- Zhytomyr Oblast
- Poltava Oblast
- Odesa Oblast
- Kharkiv Oblast
- Khmelnytskyi Oblast
These attacks resulted in both fatalities and injuries among the civilian population.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the situation, stating: 'Right now, firefighters are working to extinguish a blaze in Lutsk following an overnight strike by Russian Shahed drones.'
He also added: 'We proposed an Easter ceasefire—and in response, we received Shaheds.' These events highlight an escalation of the conflict and its severe impact on civilians.
This drone offensive underscores the intensifying military actions in the region, posing serious threats not only to public safety but also to the overall humanitarian situation. As peace initiatives are met with aggression, it is crucial to monitor the international community's response and any potential steps toward de-escalation.
