According to UATV: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has disclosed that he received intelligence indicating Russia is preparing another wave of mobilization. According to him, this effort is designed to replenish the Russian army’s losses in the occupied territories of Ukraine. The president shared this information on May 27, 2023, reporting that Moscow has ramped up its conscription activities.

Intelligence suggests that Russia’s political leadership has issued orders to expand its occupation forces. Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrsky noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are shifting to an asymmetric military strategy. Additionally, Chief of the General Staff Andriy Hnatov confirmed that Russia has intensified the distribution of draft notices, signaling a significant escalation in its mobilization attempts.

Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that ‘Russia must end its war, and the world has the leverage to make that happen.’

He also stated, ‘We are exploring all avenues to protect Ukraine and push Russia toward diplomacy.’ Applying such leverage could prove to be a critical step in resolving the conflict and ensuring regional stability.
