Moscow Plans Major Offensive: Where Russian Forces Have Broken Through in Donetsk.
Latest Frontline Developments
According to TSN.ua: Russian troops have advanced in Donetsk Oblast, specifically in the village of Riznykivka, as well as near Pokrovsk and the settlement of Novomarkove. Analysts report that Moscow’s forces are preparing for a large-scale spring-summer campaign, intensifying attacks across the entire front line. The most critical situation is unfolding in Donetsk, where Russia has set a deadline to capture Kostiantynivka by May.
Meanwhile, assault activity has increased in Kharkiv Oblast and along the Kupiansk axis. Ukraine’s Armed Forces are holding their ground and inflicting heavy losses on the occupiers, particularly near Berezove. At the same time, the enemy is making extensive use of guided aerial bombs and thousands of kamikaze drones. In the south, operations have been detected in the Dnipro river island zone, along with attempted breakthroughs near Huliaipole.
Moscow’s Plans and Their Consequences
Military expert Oleksandr Syrskyi has also noted that Moscow intends to recruit an additional 409,000 soldiers by 2026. This signals the Russian side’s determination to sustain active combat operations in the region.
The frontline remains tense, with both sides showing heightened activity. Despite mounting pressure from Russian forces, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to defend their positions. Russia’s ongoing recruitment drive points to a long-term strategy that risks further escalation of the conflict. The coming months could prove decisive in shaping military outcomes in this part of Ukraine.
