According to TSN.ua: On January 19, 2023, Russian forces attacked the city of Kharkiv using guided aerial bombs (KABs). This strike resulted in the death of one woman and left five other people wounded.
According to Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, the assault involved three hits on residential areas in the Slobidskyi district, where the casualties occurred. Several private homes were destroyed. The invading forces also launched four missiles targeting critical infrastructure in Kharkiv.
Impact of the Attack
This incident underscores the ongoing Russian military aggression, which continues to inflict harm on civilians and urban infrastructure. Kharkiv, Ukraine's second-largest city located near the Russian border, has been a frequent target since the full-scale invasion began.
The attack forms part of the wider conflict in Ukraine, where Kharkiv's strategic importance has made it a repeated objective. Strikes on civilian infrastructure and residential neighborhoods raise serious concerns for population safety and worsen the humanitarian situation in a region already suffering from war. Relevant authorities and international organizations continue to monitor developments and provide necessary aid to the victims.
