Russian Forces Strike School in Chernihiv Region with Two Explosions.
School in Semenivka Targeted
According to TSN.ua: Russian forces carried out an attack on a school in Semenivka, Chernihiv region, resulting in two explosions. Fortunately, no one was present at the school at the time, so there were no casualties. The school building itself sustained damage from the strikes. This incident is part of a wider pattern of attacks on civilian infrastructure in Ukraine.
Drone Debris Falls on Kindergarten
Separately, debris from a Russian drone was recorded falling on the grounds of a kindergarten in the Kyiv region. In the night of January 23, Russia launched 101 attack drones, of which Ukrainian air defenses managed to shoot down 76. As a result of the attacks, 19 unmanned aerial vehicles struck 12 different locations, with the Dnipropetrovsk region suffering the most damage.
Vyacheslav Chaus reported that children in border areas are on distance learning due to the threat of such strikes. Thankfully, there were no students or staff present during the attack on the school. The ongoing conflict has severely disrupted education and daily life for millions of Ukrainians.
These events underscore the growing threat to civilian objects in Ukraine. In particular, the persistent attacks on schools and children's facilities call into question the safety of children in regions bordering the combat zone. Under such threats, distance learning has become a critical measure for ensuring the safety of students and teachers.
