Night attack on Dnipro: seven injured and destruction in residential areas.
According to ТСН: Dnipro is recovering after a massive night attack by drones, during which more than thirty drones were dropped. Although the air defense managed to destroy most of them, debris and direct hits caused serious damage to residential areas.
Explosions in the residential area
One of the Russian drones fell in a residential area of Dnipro, causing a shockwave and destroying nearby apartment buildings. As a result of the crash, fires broke out in the nearby parked cars; the fire quickly spread to the first-floor apartments.
One resident, whose room was completely burned out, shared a shocking detail: the cause of the fire was a debris from a car that crashed into his home.
‘This is what flew in — a car headlight. A car was burning there and exploded. That’s why there was a fire,’ the man points to the ruins of his apartment.
Eyewitness accounts
In one courtyard alone, dozens of damaged cars and hundreds of broken windows were counted. Residents recall that the explosions started one after another when most of them were getting ready for bed.
‘A 'Shahed' fell like this among the branches of a poplar, everyone was very scared. Cars parked there were damaged. Our family’s car was also damaged; everything was broken: glass, doors... But that’s nothing, 'trivialities of life,’ the resident of the damaged building shares her emotions.
Another witness adds that all belongings were damaged, but most importantly — people stayed alive: ‘All windows, balconies, loggias, cars were damaged. Everything is damaged. But everyone is alive. We are waiting for help from our authorities, we are waiting for volunteers.’
Consequences and casualties
The attack caused damage to:
- 15 apartment buildings;
- Vocational school and dormitory;
- School and kindergartens.
Seven people were injured, including two children. Most of the injured sustained injuries from glass and experienced severe shock. A 16-year-old girl was hospitalized; medics assess her condition as moderate.
Utility services, volunteers, and emergency responders continue to work at the scene, assisting local residents in eliminating the consequences of the night terror.
This attack was preceded by other cases of drone attacks, which became evidence of escalating conflict. Local residents are concerned about safety and hope for a quick recovery. Emergency services and volunteers are doing everything possible to help the victims and restore normal life in the city.
