Drone Attack in Nikopol

According to TSN.ua: A Russian FPV drone struck civilians in Nikopol, leaving 55-year-old Inna and her 7-year-old grandson seriously injured. The attack occurred on an ordinary sidewalk where the woman and her grandson were walking. Both are currently hospitalized with severe wounds.

Inna is now in intensive care at a Dnipro hospital in critical condition. Doctors have performed multiple surgeries to stabilize her. Her grandson suffered burns and shrapnel injuries to his torso and legs. While his physical condition is stable, he is deeply traumatized. A pediatric doctor noted that 'the child is not depressed, but is extremely frightened by any loud noises.'

Witness Accounts and Aftermath

The woman described the moment she was targeted by the occupiers, saying:

“It felt like something hit me hard and burned me, but without fire.”

Inna's dog, named Bilbo, was also hit, with 11 metal fragments removed from its body. This further underscores the brutality of the attack and its impact on everyone nearby. The situation remains dire, and the family hopes for a swift recovery.

This incident highlights the dangers civilians face in conflict zones, particularly with the growing use of advanced drone technology in warfare. Attacks on non-combatants raise serious concerns about civilian safety and the ethics of deploying drones in combat. Such events can shift public perception of the conflict and fuel renewed calls for protecting innocent lives.
