Santa Claus Office officially added the Ukrainian language for correspondence with children.
According to ТСН: The Santa Claus Office supports the idea of correspondence in Ukrainian, allowing children to communicate with the wizard in their native language.
This information was provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to the authorized person for the protection of the state language, Olena Ivanovska.
According to the news, the Ukrainian language will officially be included in the list of languages used at Santa's post office. Now little Ukrainians will not only be able to write letters to Lapland in their native language but also receive replies in Ukrainian.
The initiative was put forward by Olena Ivanovska back in September, reaching out to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine with a request to support this proposal. Later, the Ukrainian Embassy in Finland received official confirmation from the head of Santa Claus's post office, Katja Tervonen.
The Santa's Office and Post in Lapland have already begun technical preparations for implementing the Ukrainian language.
The process is being adjusted so that the Ukrainian language appears in the official list of correspondence languages as soon as possible.
Correspondence with Santa: how to write and receive a reply
Ukrainian children will receive Christmas greetings in the state language.
“It is extremely important that even in such symbolic things the right of our children to their native language is taken into account. This is a manifestation of solidarity and an understanding of the importance of identity even during the holidays,” emphasized Olena Ivanovska.
Santa Claus and his elves eagerly await letters from Ukrainian children.
Thus, Ukrainian children will have the opportunity to communicate with Santa in their native language, which will add a special charm to the Christmas holidays. This step emphasizes the importance of linguistic and cultural identity and opens up new opportunities for little Ukrainians in the world of fairy tales and magic.
