Massive Fire at Baltic Oil Terminal: Ukraine's SBU Strikes Russia's Largest Fuel Hub in Ust-Luga Port.
Ukraine Hits Russian Oil Infrastructure in Major Baltic Operation
According to TSN.ua: The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has successfully struck the oil infrastructure at the Ust-Luga port terminal in Russia's Leningrad region, causing significant damage and sparking a large fire. Ust-Luga is one of Russia's biggest maritime oil terminals on the Baltic Sea, making it a critical asset for the country's petroleum exports.
This attack marks the fourth such operation against Russian oil infrastructure in the Baltic region within the past week. Prior to this, SBU drones and Ukrainian defense forces had already targeted the nearby port of Primorsk, signaling a sharp escalation in Ukrainian military activity in the area.
Yevhen Khmara, an SBU representative, stated: 'The SBU, together with the Defense Forces, continues systematic work to reduce the enemy's financial and logistical capabilities.'
These strikes not only inflict material damage on Russia but also severely hinder its ability to sustain combat operations. As a cornerstone of Russia's oil logistics network, the Ust-Luga terminal's destruction could have far-reaching consequences for fuel supplies. The intensified SBU campaign in the Baltic may represent a new phase in Ukraine's counteroffensive, one that demands close attention from the international community.
