Night Drone Attack on Taganrog and Rostov: What Happened.
According to ТСН: On the night of December 1, a series of explosions occurred in Taganrog and the outskirts of Rostov-on-Don. According to information from pro-Russian sources, the Russian Air Defense tried to repel a drone attack.
Explosions in Taganrog
Local residents cited by SHOT report at least five explosions in the central and northern parts of Taganrog. Eyewitnesses noted seeing flashes in the sky and hearing rumbling. An air raid siren was activated in the city.
Situation in the Surrounding Areas
Loud sounds were also heard by residents of the village of Chaltir and the city of Azov, located about 10 kilometers from Rostov. Russian sources claim that the Air Defense allegedly 'destroys aerial targets.'
Currently, there is no official information about casualties or damage.
It should be noted that naval drones of the SBU struck two sanctioned oil tankers of the 'shadow fleet' of the Russian Federation — KAIRO and VIRAT in the Black Sea. According to sources, the tankers may have been transporting oil worth nearly 70 million dollars and were helping the Kremlin circumvent sanctions.
These events indicate an escalation of the military situation in the region, particularly concerning attacks on infrastructure and the response of Russia's air defense. It is important to monitor the further development of the situation, as it may affect the safety of the population in border areas.
