A case has been opened in Odesa due to the death of cats in a therapy café: what is known.

According to ТСН: Law enforcement officials discovered insufficient animal care in one of the establishments in downtown Odesa called the "cat therapy café". The animals in the establishment are in terrible condition, and unfortunately, there have already been cases of death.

The police, along with representatives from the Department of Ecology and Recreational Zone Development of the Odesa City Council and a veterinarian, conducted an inspection of this establishment. It turned out that some animals are sick, and two of them have already died.

A criminal case has been opened against the fact of cruelty towards animals, which led to their death.

"The maximum penalty for this crime is up to three years of imprisonment," law enforcement emphasizes.

Earlier, a scandal erupted in society and online regarding a cat café in Odesa called Cat Lounge, where paid kitten rentals are offered. It is known that two animals from this establishment have also died.

"These businessmen must answer in court for the abuse and death of animals," wrote animal rights activist Snejana Buhryk.

This situation has caused outrage in the public, which is increasingly concerned about animal rights. Animal rights activists are calling for enhanced control over similar establishments to prevent such incidents in the future.
