A conscript found dead in Pulyny: police and military enlistment office investigate the circumstances.
According to ТСН: The body of a 50-year-old local resident, Oleksandr Revutskiy, who was a conscript, was found near the Territorial Center for Recruitment in the village of Pulyny in the Zhytomyr region.
According to local volunteer Volodymyr Hryban, the man choked on his blood due to a broken nose. He noted that this was already the second similar case in Pulyny in the last month.
“What is happening to us in Pulyny? Two men of approximately the same age have died in the last month. The first was found with a fractured skull, surgery was performed, but he eventually died from his injuries. Another was discovered dead on the road yesterday. [...] It feels like someone is trying to disrupt mobilization by killing our men...”
What the police say
Ivanna Siletska, a spokeswoman for the Zhytomyr police, confirmed that traces of blood were found on the man's face during the examination of the body. She also reported that the body was sent for forensic examination to establish the cause of death.
According to her, on January 2, Oleksandr was at the RTC for a military medical commission in Zhytomyr. The next day, he had nosebleeds due to high blood pressure, but the doctors did not hospitalize him after providing assistance. After returning to Pulyny, the man received a summons for January 5 and left the recruiting office.
Law enforcement is trying to clarify all the circumstances of the incident by reviewing camera footage and interviewing witnesses. Ivanna Siletska stated that she had not received reports of other cases of deaths of conscription-age men in Pulyny.
“Only on November 25, 2025, the police received a report that a 55-year-old local resident was found near a public transport stop in Pulyny in a state of severe intoxication and with a head injury. [...]”
Response from the RTC
The Zhytomyr Regional RTC and SP stated that on January 2, Oleksandr Revutskiy was detained for violating military registration rules and sent for a military medical commission. After the commission, he was recognized as fit for military service.
On January 3, Oleksandr felt unwell, and he had another nosebleed. An ambulance was called, but hospitalization was not needed. After this, he received a summons for January 5.
“Around 15:20, the man left the premises of the sixth department of the Zhytomyr RTC and SP [...] Medical personnel who arrived at the scene attempted to perform resuscitation efforts, but were unable to save the individual. Death was confirmed,” the Zhytomyr RTC assured.
Earlier, reports were made concerning the unusual death of a recruit from Kirovohrad Oblast in Vinnytsia, which occurred a month after mobilization.
The tragedy in Pulyny has raised concerns within the local community. It is noted that similar incidents undermine trust in medical and military institutions. Authorities assured that all circumstances will be thoroughly investigated, as it concerns the safety and health of citizens, especially those subject to mobilization.
