Tragedy in Britain: Teen Dies from Dangerous Chroming Trend.
Tragedy Due to Dangerous Trend
According to ТСН: In the United Kingdom, the family of 13-year-old Tegan Jarman reported a horrific tragedy that occurred when the girl took part in the dangerous trend of 'chroming'.
Tegan was found unconscious in March of this year in her bedroom in Leicestershire. Paramedics who arrived on the scene tried to resuscitate the girl, but unfortunately, she could not survive - she died on the spot.
The family reported that Tegan had used at least one can of deodorant. Toxicologist Dr. Anthony Peezon explained that 'chroming' involves inhaling hydrocarbon fumes and is a variation of an already known dangerous practice that is gaining popularity again.
After this tragedy, Tegan's loved ones began to share memories of her. Stepdad Rob Hopkin noted that she loved her two dogs and cat very much and spent time with her best friend. The girl dreamt of a career in medicine, following in her mother's footsteps, or acting.
Tegan's father, Paul Jarman, described his daughter as 'loving, brave, warm, and funny,' adding that her death drastically changed the family's life. He also shared that Tegan had a wonderful sense of humor and made up nicknames for him.
The family is calling for stricter controls on content in social media. They believe that platforms can limit some materials, but do not respond adequately to dangerous trends that threaten the lives of teenagers.
Tegan's older sister, Alicia, initiated an online petition proposing mandatory education for schoolchildren about the risks associated with such trends, as well as enhanced warning labels on products that could be misused.
The family emphasizes that their goal is to prevent similar tragedies and draw attention to the risks that viral online trends may pose.
It should be noted that the 'chroming' trend is gaining popularity among teenagers online. It involves inhaling fumes from household products such as nail polish, markers, or aerosols, becoming an alternative to banned drugs.
This tragedy highlights the need for a serious approach to dangerous fashion trends that may threaten the younger generation. The community and educational institutions should actively discuss the risks associated with such trends to prevent new losses. Lessons from such cases can serve as an important signal about how crucial it is to protect our young generation from dangerous experiments.
