Starting from 2026, child birth payments in Ukraine will increase: new amounts.

New support system for families with children

According to ТСН: From January 1, 2026, Law No. 4681-IX will come into force in Ukraine, aimed at increasing state support for families with children and creating conditions for combining parenthood and professional activity.

This law introduces a new system of financial payments and social programs. It will include not only support for pregnant women and one-time payments at childbirth but also monthly assistance for parents of children of different ages.

Changes in assistance for women

In particular, starting from 2026, the assistance related to pregnancy and childbirth will increase. From January 1, the one-time payment after the birth of a child will amount to 50 thousand UAH, while it previously was 10,320 UAH, followed by 860 UAH paid monthly for 36 months, which totaled 41,280 UAH.

Additionally, parents will be able to order a set of items for the newborn even before its arrival, starting from the 36th week of pregnancy.

Monthly payments

Monthly payments will also change: pregnant women without insurance experience will receive 7 thousand UAH throughout the pregnancy. The same amount is provided for one of the parents, grandmother, grandfather, or guardian who takes care of the child up to one year.

Assistance for pregnant women and mothers:

• for unemployed women — 7,000 UAH per month

• for officially employed — monthly at 100% of the average monthly salary for the last 12 months

• for military, police, and other special categories — 100% of the average monthly cash allowance

Baby Package: it can be received in kind or as a monetary compensation for its cost, which will be determined by the Cabinet of Ministers. The choice is made by one of the parents. The Baby Package is available from the 36th week of pregnancy or within three months after birth.

Monthly assistance for caring for a child aged one to three years “eYasla” — 8 thousand UAH, is provided on the condition of employment of the mother or another legal representative (for full-time work). If the child has a disability, this assistance will be 12 thousand UAH per month.

With the introduction of the new support system for families, Ukrainian families will receive significant advantages, allowing them to combine professional activity and parenthood. The increase in financial payments will be an important step in supporting the demographic situation in the country and improving conditions for raising children.
