Snowfall in Kyiv after the massive attack: how the city will cope with two challenges.
According to ТСН: In the evening, Kyiv was covered by snowfall. Meteorologists warned of a 'yellow' level of danger due to strong gusts of wind accompanied by snow and ice. The city authorities urge drivers to be careful on the roads.
Weather forecasts and street maintenance
According to the Ukrainian Hydro-Meteorological Center, the snowfall will continue tomorrow, and gusts of northwestern wind could reach 15–20 m/s.
In connection with the blizzard, 124 units of special equipment are working in Kyiv, applying deicing materials to the streets. Additionally, 23 teams of manual cleaning with 128 workers have been mobilized.
"Priority is given to treating and clearing snow at bus stops, staircases, and access to ground and underground crossings and other pedestrian zones"- stated the Kyiv City State Administration.
The situation in the city
The deterioration of weather conditions in Kyiv is occurring at a very difficult time. The city is just beginning to recover from powerful Russian attacks.
At the same time, photographs of snowy Kyiv are actively being published on the Internet.
Earlier, it was reported that after the massive attack in Kyiv and the region, more than half a million consumers were left without electricity.
Moreover, an unprecedented strike on critical infrastructure has left more than 40% of the capital's residential buildings without heating.
The difficult weather situation is worsening an already tense situation in Kyiv. Local residents and municipal services are working on restoring normal living conditions in the city. Despite the difficulties, Kyivans are trying to support each other during this challenging time.
