Veterans on prosthetics took to the stage of Dancing with the Stars: a triumphant number about the path home.

War veterans on stage

On the main stage of the country, before the performance of the last star couple, war veterans took to the floor. For them, dance became not only entertainment but also a symbol of returning to a full life. Each of them endured the horrors of war and suffered severe injuries, but after being fitted with prosthetics at the Superhumans Center, they did not lose their spirit but even demonstrated their resilience.

Dance as a path home

The veterans prepared a special dance number that tells the story of the way home, loss, love, and faith. They were assisted in this endeavor by choreographer and winner of Dancing with the Stars Olena Shoptenko.

On stage, veterans on prosthetics and military personnel performed: Ivan and Solomiya Voynovy, Pavlo Tovstyk, Vyacheslav and Hanna Kutiyiny, Volodymyr Malykhin, Oleh Slyvar. They danced alongside their wives and loved ones. Civilian Valentina Psaryova, who lost her home due to a missile strike in Bakhmut, also joined, as did dancers from Kyiv studios.

Symbolism of the performance

The theme of the dance tackled an important issue for all Ukrainians – returning home, to those who are waiting. The central element of the performance was the image of a Christmas table, symbolizing family warmth, for which one has to pay a lot. Thanks to the movement conveying life, this number became an act of restoration and a reminder – we cannot afford to give in.

Recognition and support

The veterans were warmly welcomed by Mohelyevska, who brought a red rose to the table and bowed to them in gratitude.

All funds raised from voting will be directed towards a charity collection for Superhumans Center. Every vote is a donation for evacuation, and you can vote for your favorite through SMS or calls to the numbers announced during the broadcast and on the social media of Dancing with the Stars.

This event emphasizes the importance of supporting veterans who, despite the trials they have endured, continue to lead active lives and motivate others. The charity collection from Dancing with the Stars contributes not only financial assistance but also unites society around ideas of help and restoration.
