Biden Responds to Putin's New Threats.
The White House responded to new threats from Russian President Vladimir Putin about a possible war between Russia and NATO.
According to Voice of America, Putin said that allowing Ukraine to strike Russia with Western missiles would mean direct involvement of NATO and European countries in the war in Ukraine.
In response, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre noted that Putin's new threats of war with NATO are a dangerous but not new rhetoric. "This is their aggression. This is what they have done," she said.
Additionally, Jean-Pierre emphasized that the war in Ukraine can only end when Russia withdraws its troops from the country. She also noted that the White House has not changed its position on strikes on Russian territory.
"The policy has not changed. The President is committed to ensuring that Ukraine has what it needs to defend itself against Russia and protect its democracy," said the White House Press Secretary.
Recall that Charles Michel commented on Putin's threats to NATO over a possible authorization for long-range strikes on Russia.
