A report about the discovery of a man's body showing signs of violent death was received by the police. The deceased was found in an abandoned building on Pymonenko Street.

At the scene, an investigative group, criminologists, and employees of the Criminal Analysis Department of the Lviv Regional Police worked.

“As the police preliminarily established, that day, around 5:30 PM, a sudden conflict arose between a 54-year-old resident of Zhytomyr and a 64-year-old homeless man, during which the perpetrator dealt three knife blows to the victim's neck,” the report states.

Law enforcement officers, analyzing the recordings of the surveillance cameras of the 'Safe Lviv' system, managed to determine the location of the suspect and detained her according to the procedure of Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.

Investigators informed the woman of the suspicion under part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine—intentional murder. The penalty under this article provides for imprisonment from 7 to 15 years.

Currently, a pre-trial investigation is ongoing, and the procedural leadership in the case is carried out by the Frankivsk District Prosecutor's Office.

This situation in Lviv underscores the seriousness of criminal offenses that occur even in large cities. Further investigations may shed light on the reasons and circumstances of such tragedies, as well as strengthen security measures for vulnerable populations.
