Ukrainian in Poland hospitalized after attack: Ambassador Bodnar calls for investigation.
According to ТСН: Recently, in the Polish city of Radom, a Ukrainian citizen became a victim of a group attack. The assailants physically assaulted the man and insulted him due to his nationality. The victim suffered serious injuries and was hospitalized.
This was reported by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Poland, Vasyl Bodnar.
Circumstances of the Attack
The attack occurred after a domestic conflict that was resolved without police involvement. However, despite this, physical force was applied to the man. During the attack, the assailants shouted insults related to the victim's nationality.
“Citizens of Ukraine have the right to respect for their dignity and safety regardless of the country they are in. Any manifestations of violence or hate speech against Ukrainians are unacceptable and must receive the appropriate legal assessment,” emphasized Bodnar.
Response of Diplomatic Representatives
The ambassador expressed hope for an impartial and thorough investigation of the incident and for holding those responsible accountable under the law, taking into account the possible motivation of national hatred. He also noted that the consular service of Ukraine in Poland maintains constant contact with local law enforcement and receives necessary information through official channels.
Other Incidents of Aggression
In addition, in the Polish city of Łódź, a woman attacked a Ukrainian woman with a baby in a stroller after the latter asked her to clean up after her dog. Upon learning about the victim's nationality, the attacker committed a physical assault and made xenophobic threats, which were recorded on video.
Unfortunately, such incidents indicate growing tensions and manifestations of aggression that Ukrainians face abroad. It is important for law enforcement to respond to such cases, and for society to unite in the fight against hatred and discrimination regardless of nationality.
