In Poland, a Ukrainian woman with a child was attacked in a park: the attacker faces up to 5 years

According to ТСН: In the Polish city of Łódź, a situation has arisen that raises questions about racism and xenophobia. A Ukrainian citizen who was walking in a park with her small child in a stroller became a victim of an aggressive woman.

The conflict arose after the Ukrainian made a remark to the dog owner, asking to clean up after the animal. The attack escalated when the woman learned about the Ukrainian's nationality.

Human rights defenders reported that the aggressor began to behave aggressively, used physical force, and made racist threats. The incident occurred in one of the parks in Łódź and was recorded on video.

The Center for Monitoring Racist and Xenophobic Manifestations emphasized that the actions of the aggressor could be classified as a crime committed out of national hatred. The organization plans to prepare materials for the prosecutor's office. According to preliminary legal assessment, this case may be examined under Article 119 of the Polish Penal Code, which provides for penalties for violence or threats based on national, ethnic, or racial hatred.

If the xenophobic motive is confirmed, the attacker may face imprisonment for up to five years. The monitoring center has appealed to the public for help in identifying the woman captured in the video. Anyone who can recognize the attacker or was a witness to the event is asked to contact the organization or law enforcement.

Aggression in Poznań

It is worth noting that recently in the Polish city of Poznań, there was also an attack on a citizen of Ukraine on public transport. According to Polish media, the aggression began in a tram after the attackers heard Ukrainian speech. Two men initially verbally provoked the passenger, then knocked him to the floor and beat him with their feet, and a woman who was with him was also injured.

Witnesses reported threats from the attackers, including in Russian. Police detained two 27-year-old men suspected of committing a crime on grounds of discrimination. They may face up to five years in prison.

These incidents paint a troubling picture of relations between nationalities in Poland, highlighting the importance of awareness and combating racism and xenophobia. Human rights defenders call for active measures to prevent such incidents in the future and to protect the rights of all citizens.
