Children were abused in a rehabilitation center in Lviv region: Lubinets reacted.

In the children’s educational and rehabilitation center in the Lviv region, there were allegedly incidents of physical, psychological, and sexual abuse of children. This was reported by ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets.

According to him, the center houses the most vulnerable groups of children: orphans, children in difficult circumstances, and children with special educational needs.

According to the children’s testimonies, the director of the center committed sexual abuse against the girls, publicly humiliated them, and threatened them with beatings and a psychiatric hospital for violating the behavior regime.

At the same Time, the children were systematically told such offensive phrases as: "you are not needed by anyone", "your parents are alcoholics", "you are sick", "nothing good will come of you".

Also, according to Lubinets, children have already contacted law enforcement and local child services, but to no avail, and the director of the center threatened and humiliated the complainants.

The ombudsman’s team forced law enforcement to document the facts of violations, after which a criminal case was opened under Article 153 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – sexual violence against a minor.

Lubinets stated that he would organize a meeting with representatives of the Lviv OVA, law enforcement agencies, and ministries to address the inaction of the bodies responsible for protecting children’s rights.

He also emphasized that he would personally monitor the investigation process to hold all those responsible accountable.

Recall that the parents of teenagers who beat and sexually abused a minor in the Poltava region received only a fine of 850 hryvnias.

Also, in Odesa, a woman abused her 2-year-old niece throughout the night and broadcasted it on social networks to attract as many followers as possible. Law enforcement officers removed the girl from the family.
