Tragedy Strikes in Mala Kuzhelivka
According to TSN.ua: A child has died and the mother was wounded following the explosion of a munition in the village of Mala Kuzhelivka, part of the Dunaevetska community. The incident occurred on Sunday, February 22, at approximately 9:45 PM. Preliminary reports indicate a 10-year-old boy was handling a grenade when it detonated. The explosion killed the child at the scene, while his 45-year-old mother sustained injuries and was hospitalized in the trauma department of the Dunaevets multi-specialty hospital.
Investigation Launched
Law enforcement has initiated an investigation into the illegal handling of weapons and the killing. Investigators have opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 263 (Illegal handling of weapons, ammunition, or explosives) and Part 2, Clause 2 of Article 115 (Intentional killing of a minor child) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Explosives technicians have recovered fragments of the munition for expert examination.
