Clocks Spring Forward in Ukraine: March Date Set for Daylight Saving Time Shift.
Ukraine's Switch to Daylight Saving Time
According to Novyny.live: Ukraine will move its clocks forward by one hour during the night of March 28–29, 2023. At 2:59 AM, the time will jump directly to 4:00 AM, marking the official transition. These seasonal time changes follow Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 509, adopted on May 13, 1996, which still governs the practice nationwide.
Although the Ukrainian parliament recently approved a bill to abolish clock changes altogether, the legislation never took effect. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy declined to sign it, leaving the biannual time adjustment firmly in place for now.
Adjusting to the New Schedule
The March time change remains a significant event for Ukrainians, affecting daily routines, work hours, and school schedules. Following simple tips can help ease the body's adaptation to the lost hour of sleep and minimize disruption.
Daylight saving time is a long-standing tradition in Ukraine that influences the pace of life for citizens, businesses, and educational institutions. While lawmakers continue to debate proposals to end the practice, Ukrainians must still follow the existing rules. This means everyone should prepare for schedule changes and consider recommendations for smoothly adjusting to the new time.
