According to TSN.ua: Ukraine is mourning the loss of Patriarch Filaret, who passed away at the age of 97. His death was attributed to complications arising from a worsening of chronic health conditions. The tragic news was announced by Metropolitan Epiphanius, the head of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine.
The farewell ceremony for Patriarch Filaret will take place at St. Volodymyr's Cathedral and also at St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery. According to the schedule of services, on Friday at 8:00 PM, the patriarch's body will be moved to St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery, where a requiem service will be held throughout Saturday. On Sunday, the patriarch's body will be brought back to St. Volodymyr's Cathedral for a final farewell.
