Up to 1,000 UAH in Fuel Cashback: How Ukrainian Drivers Can Claim It.
Fuel Cashback Program in Ukraine
According to TSN.ua: Ukraine has launched a fuel cashback initiative running from March 20 to May 1, 2023. The program lets drivers recover a portion of their spending on fuel purchased at gas stations. Eligible refund rates are as follows:
- 15% for diesel fuel,
- 10% for gasoline,
- 5% for autogas.
The maximum monthly cashback per person is capped at 1,000 Ukrainian hryvnias. Importantly, no cashback is awarded when fuel is bought through a gas station's mobile app, a restriction that may influence how drivers choose to make their purchases.
How the Refunded Money Can Be Spent
Funds received through this fuel cashback program can be allocated to a variety of expenses. Specifically, they may be used for:
- utilities and postal services,
- charitable donations,
- support for the Armed Forces of Ukraine,
- food products,
- medications,
- books and other printed materials made in Ukraine.
The program is designed not only to ease the burden on consumers but also to boost demand for domestically produced goods.
This cashback initiative is part of a broader economic strategy by the Ukrainian government to assist the public amid rising energy prices. Additionally, it may encourage drivers to refuel at traditional stations, benefiting the financial health of those businesses. Notably, the cashback can be directed toward supporting Ukrainian manufacturers, helping to strengthen the national economy during the challenges the country currently faces.
