Ombudsman Takes Control of the Case of the Detainee Accused of Blowing Up the Nord Stream.
According to inkorr.com: The Ombudsman of Ukraine, Dmytro Lubinets, has taken control of the situation regarding the hunger strike of Ukrainian Sergiy Kuznetsov, who was detained on suspicion of blowing up the 'Nord Stream' gas pipelines, reported Glavkom.
Kuznetsov's lawyer informed the ombudsman that the detainee is enduring harsh conditions in custody, lacking proper sanitation, access to special food, information, and the possibility of communication with his family.
The court in Italy has decided to extradite the suspect to Germany due to his connection with the sabotage of the 'Nord Stream' pipelines in the Baltic Sea.
Actions of the Ombudsman and Appeal to Colleagues in Italy
Dmytro Lubinets has appealed to the Ombudsman of Italy and the Lazio region requesting adherence to the rights of the Ukrainian and the conditions of his detention. Representatives of the Office of the Ombudsman of Ukraine plan to visit the location where Sergiy Kuznetsov is being held to verify the circumstances and provide him with support.
The situation with Kuznetsov is attracting attention not only from Ukrainian but also from international human rights defenders. It is important that his rights are not violated during the extradition and that he receives proper living conditions and protection of his interests.
