Weather Forecast for Ukraine in the Coming Days

According to TSN.ua: A severe cold snap is set to grip Ukraine, bringing temperatures as low as -22°C (-7.6°F), alongside hazardous icy roads and flood risks in several regions. The coldest nights are forecast for February 21 and 22, when most areas will see temperatures plummet to between -10°C and -22°C. Meteorologist Natalia Didenko noted,

"On the nights of February 21 and 22, most regions will experience frosts from -10°C to -16°C."
This extreme cold follows a period of variable winter weather across the country.

In southern and western Ukraine, nighttime temperatures will range from -2°C to -6°C, with February 22 daytime highs fluctuating between -3°C and +4°C. These conditions are ideal for the formation of black ice, which will likely create treacherous driving conditions. Forecaster Ihor Kibalchych added,

"On February 21, severe frost will prevail across Ukraine with no significant precipitation."

Flood Warnings Issued

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine has issued warnings for potential flooding, as water levels in rivers are expected to rise between February 20 and 25. The following oblasts are at risk of inundation:

  • Kirovohrad Oblast
  • Mykolaiv Oblast
  • Odesa Oblast
  • Kharkiv Oblast
  • Cherkasy Oblast

Yellow and orange danger levels have been declared in these regions.
