In Odesa, people blocked the road after a week without electricity: what is happening.
According to ТСН: In Odesa, people took to the streets to protest, blocking the road due to the prolonged absence of electricity, which has lasted for a week.
Protest on Prince Volodymyr the Great Avenue
The incident occurred on Prince Volodymyr the Great Avenue (Dubrovolskogo). Videos published on social media show people walking along the road near the OKKO gas station, while drivers are forced to honk at the protesters.
One of the participants in the event holds a sign that reads
“Give us light”.
Emergency situation in the Odesa region
It should be noted that due to the critical situation in the energy system, caused by massive attacks from Russia, a state-level emergency has been declared in the Odesa region. More than 50 thousand residents have been without electricity for over three days. This has forced the authorities to implement strict conservation measures for businesses and redirect funds from the reserve fund to fuel generators in hospitals, schools, and “Points of Invincibility.” The main goal is to ensure uninterrupted power supply to critical infrastructure and support the livelihoods of communities during the prolonged blackout.
This protest underscores the seriousness of the energy supply problem in the region. People are demanding action to restore electricity supply, which has become critically important for their daily lives. The authorities are currently working on resolving the situation, but problems in the energy system may take significant time to stabilize.
