Teen Suspect Detained in Odesa Terror Plot
According to TSN.ua: Law enforcement in Odesa has arrested a 19-year-old woman from Chernivtsi who, according to preliminary findings, was preparing terrorist attacks under orders from Russian intelligence services. The suspect attempted to detonate an explosive device on a truck carrying equipment for a critical infrastructure facility, but the bomb failed to go off. After that unsuccessful attempt, she set fire to another truck and recorded the arson on video.
Legal Consequences
The young woman was detained at her place of residence. Investigators have already notified her of suspicion of attempted terrorism. Under Ukrainian law, she faces up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property. Authorities are also considering additional charges related to intentional destruction or damage of property.
